Golf is a traditional game that is generally played at both professional as well as amateur levels. There are golf championships such as the Masters, the Open Championship, the US Open and the PGA Championship that are held across the world. Golf is considered to be an elite game although its fans are steadily increasing.

Golf is played according to some preset rules and regulations. Professional golf s rules are determined by the Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St Andrews (R&A) and the United States Golf Association (USGA). Golf is played on special courses that are designed for professional or amateur golfing. They generally have 9, 18 or 36 holes. The basic objective of the game is to

hit a ball into the cup with the minimum number of strokes.

Golf is a very interesting game that involves a lot of skill and adherence to many rules and regulations. The basic concept of golf is to hit a ball with a club until it reaches the cup, and use the minimum number of strokes to do it. There are different kinds of strokes or shots: tee shots, fairway shots, bunker shots and putts. There are

also approach shots: pitch, flop and chip. There is also scoring for golf. Amateur golfers are scored on the basis of their handicap. The main equipment required for golf includes: the golf ball, golf clubs, and special equipment like golf carts, bags, shoes, gloves and tees.

Picture yourself standing on the tee box of your favorite short 4 par. You’ve got your driver in hand. This hole is designed with risk-reward written all over it. If you hit it long and straight, you can get very near or maybe on the green with your driver to set up for an easy birdie. If you mis-hit it, you are looking at hazards or o/b and a balloon score.

You know the correct play here is to pull out an iron and lay up for a 100 yard shot to the green, but you just can’t bring yourself to do it. You say to yourself, “What the heck, I’m going for it”.
